A 40 oz tumbler that looked perfect online might turn out to be too tall for your car, or the Sage you picked might sit a little greener in your kitchen light than you expected. That is why every item from Tumbler Lane can be sent back within 60 days of delivery, for any reason, and why we pay the return postage. This page is about the process: what you can return or exchange, how to start, how to pack it and what happens when it reaches us. For how and when the money comes back to you, see our Refund Policy.
\n
\n
The short version
\n
\n
Window: 60 days from the day your order was delivered.
\n
What qualifies: every product we sell, whatever the reason.
\n
Return postage: on us, for every return. We send you a prepaid label.
\n
Exchanges: swap capacity, colour or lid style, subject to stock.
\n
Damaged, faulty or wrong items: usually no need to send them back at all.
\n
Restocking fees: none.
\n
\n
\n
1. What you can send back
\n
Everything in our range is covered: 40 oz handle tumblers, 20 and 30 oz tumblers, water bottles, can coolers, replacement lids, straws and straw toppers, and silicone boots and sleeves. You do not need a reason, and you do not need to have kept the original box, although it helps protect the item on its way back.
\n
We ask for one thing: send back the complete item. If a tumbler came with a lid and a straw, please return the lid and the straw too. If a set of can coolers came with gaskets, include the gaskets. A cup without its lid cannot be offered to the next customer, and a missing part can turn a full refund into a conversation we would both rather avoid (see section 6).
\n
1.1 A note on used drinkware
\n
It is fine to try a tumbler with water to see how it feels in your hand or how it fits your cup holder. If you have used it for other drinks, please wash and dry it, including the lid and straw, before you pack it. For hygiene reasons, returned lids, straws and straw toppers that have been used are never resold; we inspect and recycle them where possible. That does not affect your right to return them.
\n
2. Exchanges: changing capacity, colour or lid
\n
The most common exchanges we see are a 40 oz that did not fit a compact car’s cup holder swapped for a 30 oz, a colour swap after seeing the cup in daylight, and a straw lid swapped for a slider lid by someone who drinks mostly hot coffee. All of these are simple.
\n
\n
Email us with your order number, the item you are sending back and the item you want instead (capacity, colour and lid style).
\n
We confirm that the replacement is in stock and reserve it for you.
\n
We email a prepaid return label for the original item.
\n
As soon as the carrier scans your return, or when it arrives with us if you prefer, we ship the replacement free of charge.
\n
\n
If the new item costs more than the original, we send a payment link for the difference before shipping it. If it costs less, we refund the difference to your original payment method within 7 days of approval. If the item you want is out of stock, we tell you before you send anything, and you can choose another option or a refund instead.
\n
2.1 Not sure which capacity to keep?
\n
Some customers order two capacities, for example a 30 oz and a 40 oz, test both in the car and on the desk for a few days, and return the one they like less. That is completely fine. Keep the one you prefer, wash the other with plain water, pack it with its lid and straw, and start a return as described below. Return postage is still on us, and the refund for the cup you send back follows the normal timeline. Our size and fit guide may help you narrow it down before you order.
\n
3. How to start a return
\n
\n
Email us at support@tumblerlane.com or open a request on our support ticket page. Include your order number, the items you are returning and, if you like, the reason. Reasons are optional, but they help us improve product descriptions and fit notes.
\n
Get your prepaid label. We reply within 1 business day with return instructions and a prepaid label for your country.
\n
Pack and send within 14 days of receiving the label. If you need longer, tell us and we will extend it.
\n
Watch your inbox. We email you when the parcel arrives and again when the return is approved.
\n
\n
Please do not post items to our business address without a return label. Returns sent without a label are hard to match to an order and can take much longer to process.
\n
3.1 Packing drinkware for the trip back
\n
Stainless cups survive most journeys, but a dent picked up on the way back is frustrating for everyone. Wash and dry the item, then fit the lid or bag it separately with its straw. Wrap the cup in paper, bubble wrap or a soft towel you do not need, and use a box rather than a padded envelope so the rim cannot be crushed. Stick the prepaid label on the largest flat side and cover or remove any old labels so the carrier scans the right one. Keep the drop-off receipt or the tracking number until your return is approved.
\n
3.2 Returning part of an order
\n
You can return a single item from a larger order. If you bought a set, such as four can coolers, and only one is wrong, we can usually replace just that one. When an order included a promotional price that depended on buying several items together, the refund for a partial return is calculated on what you actually paid for the returned item, and we show you the calculation before we process it.
\n
4. Who pays for return postage
\n
We do. Every return, including change-of-mind returns and exchanges, travels on a prepaid label that we provide. You do not pay to send the item back, and nothing is deducted from your refund for return postage. Because we ship for free in the first place, there is also no original shipping charge to lose.
\n
\n
Return postage and outcomes by reason
\n

Reason for return

Return postage

Do you need to send it back?

What you receive

\n
\n

Changed your mind

Free prepaid label

Yes

Refund or exchange

\n

Does not fit your cup holder or bag

Free prepaid label

Yes

Exchange for another capacity, or refund

\n

Colour different from what you expected

Free prepaid label

Yes

Exchange or refund

\n

Arrived dented, cracked or broken

Not needed

Usually no, photos are enough

Replacement or refund

\n

Faulty lid, gasket or straw

Not needed

Usually no

Replacement part, replacement item or refund

\n

We sent the wrong item, capacity or colour

Free prepaid label if we need it back

Only if we ask

The correct item or a refund

\n
\n
\n
5. Damaged, faulty or wrong items
\n
If something arrives in a state it should not, you should not have to wait for a parcel to travel back to us before it is put right. Email us within 60 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos:
\n
\n
for transit damage, the outer box, the shipping label and the damaged area of the item;
\n
for a fault, the part that is not working, for example a lid that will not close, a gasket that has come out of its groove or a straw that is split;
\n
for a wrong item, the item you received next to the order confirmation, showing the capacity or colour.
\n
\n
Once we have reviewed the photos, usually on the same business day, we send a replacement free of charge or refund you in full, whichever you prefer. In most cases you can keep or recycle the faulty item. If we do need it back, for example to send it to the supplier, we provide a prepaid label.
\n
5.1 Leaks and lids
\n
Before reporting a leak, check that the gasket is seated evenly in its groove all the way around the lid and that the lid is screwed or pressed on straight. A gasket that sits crooked after washing is the most common cause of drips. If the lid still leaks after that, or if a part is cracked, we treat it as a fault and replace it. Remember that straw lids and slider lids are designed for upright use; only lids described on the product page as sealing closed are meant to travel on their side in a bag.
\n
6. When we receive your return
\n
We inspect returns within 2 business days of their arrival. We check that the item and its parts are all there and that it has not been damaged after delivery. Then we approve the return and email you. Your refund is processed within 7 days of that approval, or your exchange ships if it has not already.
\n
If something is missing or the item has been damaged after delivery, for example a tumbler that has clearly been dropped on concrete, we email you photos and explain the options before doing anything: we can send the missing part back to you, offer a partial refund that we state in writing, or return the item to you at our cost. We never apply a partial refund without telling you first.
\n
\n
What happens after you start a return
\n

Step

Who acts

Typical timing

\n
\n

Return request answered, prepaid label sent

Tumbler Lane

Within 1 business day

\n

Item packed and handed to the carrier

You

Within 14 days of receiving the label

\n

Parcel travels back to us

Carrier

Depends on your country

\n

Inspection and approval email

Tumbler Lane

Within 2 business days of arrival

\n

Refund processed or exchange shipped

Tumbler Lane

Refund within 7 days of approval

\n
\n
\n
7. Gifts
\n
If you received a Tumbler Lane item as a gift, you can return or exchange it within the same 60 days. Ask the person who ordered it for the order number, or send us their name and the delivery address and we will find it. Exchanges ship to you. Refunds go back to the original payment method of the person who paid, unless they ask us to arrange something else.
\n
8. Orders shipped to Canada, Australia and New Zealand
\n
The same rules apply in all four countries we ship to. Your prepaid return label is issued for your country. International returns can take longer to reach us, but your 60-day window is measured to the day you contact us to start the return, not the day the parcel arrives. Import duties or taxes you paid when the parcel was delivered are charged by your country’s authorities, not by us, so we cannot refund them; your customs authority may have its own process for reclaiming them on returned goods.
\n
9. Returns after 60 days
\n
After 60 days we cannot accept change-of-mind returns. If a product develops a problem after that point, contact us anyway and tell us what happened. We look at every case individually and will tell you honestly what we can and cannot do.
\n
10. Talk to a person
\n
To start a return or exchange, email support@tumblerlane.com or open a support ticket.
